#CyHoopsInv | Day 1 - Bridgeland Site
On day 1 of the CyHoops Invitational, I had the privilege of attending the Bridgeland High School site where I caught a half of all four games that were going on.
Bridgeland High School - the Bears received great contributions from Trae Busby a 6’3” Jr. with explosive athleticism. He also can drain the three-point shot. Jeff Savoie 6’0” Sr. hit some big trey balls late in the game to help them secure the win. Lyris Robinson 6’2” So. who currently holds a pair of NCAA D1 offers was poised running the point.
Aldine Davis High School - the Newman University signee Deadric Fikes 6’6” Sr. was a monster on the interior. Offensively no one had an answer for him, and defensively he was altering shots and clearing house on the glass.
Cypress Springs High School - one of the top frontcourts in Greater Houston was on display. Stoney Hadnot 6’6” Sr. who is signed with South Dakota State University was huge defensively in the fourth quarter of the game. Landon Veal 6’7” So. played both on the perimeter and interior offensively for the Panthers.
Dickinson High School - David Chong 6’0” Jr. lead guard was really tough in the first half of the game. Really good feel for the game, and when he's locked in as a facilitator and on-ball defender he is one of the best. Caleb Lopez 5’10” Fr. shot the ball well from the perimeter.
Shadow Creek High School - The sharks looked like they smelt blood in the water from the tip-off. They were led by Kaden Tate 6’6” Sr. looked like he was on a mission to prove a point that he is one of the top unsigned seniors in the area. He was swatting everything at the rim, stealing the ball, and dunking it every chance he got. Michael Collins 6’1” Jr. showcased why he has the NCAA D1 offers he does. He is just a pure menace defensively with a solid IQ. Julian Cuillier 6’4” Jr. can score it from all levels on the court.
Cypress Ranch High School - the Mustangs were led by Chris Tippins 6’5” Sr. who looked like his younger confident self displaying his athleticism around the rim. Isaac Saavedra 5’11” Jr. is a craft guard that can shoot the leather off the ball as he drained 6 trey balls in the game on 10 attempts, and he was getting to the rim with ease.
