Day 1 Standouts | #ShotClockInvite

Reviews with Rob | Day 1 Standouts of the Shot Clock Invitational

In the inaugural Shot Clock Invitational event, day one was pretty eventful. Here are a handful of players that stood out to me:

Drake Barrett, G (Houston Apex 15U) - Drake displayed a savvy scoring prowess, only seen by a few kids his age. It led to him garnering 23 points and getting timely steals and offensive rebounds in a big win against Team Dominate.

Jaequrian Lincoln, W (Houston Apex 15U) - Jaequrian controlled the game's tempo from the opening tip. His ability to push the pace on offense and be a versatile defender on defense was huge for Coach Stewart’s team. I am excited to see him in action on the second day.

Rayan Fadika, W (The Mile Academy 17U) - Rayan has taken his game to another level. That was evident by his smooth 14 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebound outing. He shot the ball well from the perimeter in a gritty win versus the Houston Raptors.

Jaden Holt, G (The Mile Academy 17U) - Holt was the consummate point guard in this game. He displayed an all-around performance. 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals couldn’t tell you how much he was in control throughout. His control and maturity were the leading factors in his team's victory.

Jaxon Woods, G (Houston Raptors 17U) - Where would the Houston Raptors have been without him? Even while being undersized, Jaxon continued to put pressure on the opposition with multiple drives in the paint that resulted in him being the leading scorer in a tough loss.

Cash Davis, G (The Mile Academy 15U) - This young man can shoot the basketball. As was evident, as he made 4 three-pointers in the second half, leading to a 16-point performance. Cash’s ability to stretch the floor is what turned a close game into a wide margin of victory.

Dylan Rogers, G (Team Dominate 15U) - Even though his team came up short, this young man impressed me with his ability to communicate and his toughness. In the second game of the day, he continued to battle even though they were down big. Dylan would score 18 points and continue to play hard until the final buzzer.
