This was a revenge game of sorts, with Nimitz 18-12 (6-4 in district) having lost the first time around and Spring 10-16 (5-5 in district) needing another big win to keep up in the district playoff race. The first half started out really slow. Both teams came out flat, missing shots that they would normally hit. Unsigned senior W Jeremiah Williams started to warm up for Spring after a couple of aggressive drives to the basket. ℅ 2024 G Cedric Richardson would play stifling perimeter defense on whoever decided to dribble the ball in front of him from Nimitz. The (Nimitz) Cougars overall energy, and the do-it-all play of ℅ 2024 W Dominic Samuel, would give them a slight lead at half time with a score of 20-18.

In the second half, it turned into an all out street fight. Both teams left everything they had on the court. Talented ℅ 2024 G Javarious Thompson would feel a sense of urgency and pick up his play. He would convert on multiple drives to the basket and would take on the tough assignment of trying to slow down Williams after he got going. Jeremiah showed in the second half why he is one of Coach Glass’s main weapons. He scored from inside and on the perimeter, ending the second half with 15 points. With the game hanging in the balance, Nimitz committed an out of bounds turnover under the basket that Williams stole; but, he could not convert on the game tying layup. Nimitz would escape with the 47-45 victory, and with 3 games remaining in district, keep a slight hope of obtaining the district championship.
