Butler Fieldhouse was the site of this HISD matchup in District 18 6A Region III. Westbury came into the contest undefeated in the district at 3-0, with an overall record of 6-13. Bellaire also came in undefeated in the district at 2-0, with an overall record of 8-6. The Cardinals looked to attack the Huskies early and often on the inside. ℅ 2025 W Shelton Henderson looked almost unstoppable going downhill. He continuously attacked the basket with reckless abandon that would lead him to end up with 11 points in the first half. Unsigned senior W Dontrelle Johnson was also a big help for Bellaire. He added 8 points and 5 rebounds. Westbury couldn’t get anything to fall from the perimeter in the first half. Unsigned senior G Kahmar Pratt was a bright spot for the Huskies with 6 points and 4 steals. ℅ 2025 Bryan Bernardez also chipped in 6 points in the first half. Bellaire would lead 31-18 after the first two quarters.
The second half would be more of the same with ℅ 2025 LJ Andrews adding 8 points and 3 rebounds. Every time Bellaire would look to pull away, unsigned senior W Fareed Allim would flash and make a play for Westbury. He rebounded from a poor shooting performance in the first half, to garner 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals in the second half; but on this night Coach Glover and his Cardinals would be too much. ℅ 2025 G Noah Neumann would drop 9 of his 11 points in the fourth quarter as Bellaire cruised to a 66-48 victory that puts them in sole possession of first place in the district.
